Continuing his practice form, Osborn’s Transport driver Joel Heinrich has edged out local Mason Harvey to take pole for Round 3 of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series at Carco.com.au Raceway.
Heinrich set a 1m 03.79s to score pole position by just 0.031s from Harvey in the lead Corish Motorsport entry as he continues an impressive Rookie Cup campaign, while Brandon Madden did likewise in 2023 and will line up third after being just 0.155s off the pace.
MTA NSW’s Kody Garland will be fourth on the grid ahead of 2022 series winner Josh Anderson and Western Sydney Motorsport driver Cody Brewczynski, Reece Chapman for Guardian Interlock Systems and second in Rookie Cup Jordan Freestone.
The Competition Coatings entry of Nathan Williams and Kent Quinn in the Masters Cup leading Norganic Proteins Mustang completed the top 10.
Action Line Marking-supported Scott Dornan led the Gold Cup in 12th outright, but an engine failure for Asher Johnston driving the Craill Johnston Racing Enterprises entry late in the session caught the class winner from Queensland Raceway out resulting in a collision. Johnston will take no further part of the weekend.
Behind Dornan, Riskie Racing’s Joseph Andriske and Jeff Watters for Fight MND filled out the top three in class.
Quinn continued to lead the Masters Cup from Cody Mckay and Johnston, while Harvey led Freestone as debutant Lachlan Evennett for WLM Motorsport was third in Rookie Cup.
The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series opens its account at Carco.com.au Raceway at 8:45am AWST/10:45am AEST tomorrow morning.
