Stacked Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series ready for Sydney opener

An impressive field of 32 cars will assemble at Sydney Motorsport Park for the opening round of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series as part of the new Trophy Tour.

Reigning series winner Joel Heinrich will defend his title after securing it by the barest of margins on the Gold Coast last October. Heinrich continues in the Osborn’s Transport entry, but top title rival Kody Garland enters the season with an improved effort in 2025.

Garland will debut the first chassis constructed by esteemed engineering partner Triple Eight Race Engineering, with early testing providing positive results heading into the season.

Mason Harvey proved an impressive Rookie of the Year winner in 2024 and returns for an all-out assault on the title, forming a strong three-car attack mounted by Corish Motorsport.

Also returning is race winner Reece Chapman in the Motorsport25 entry supported by Racer Industries, Kyle Ensbey for Diesel Express, Brandon Madden for Riskie Racing and reigning Gold Cup winner Scott Dornan to further add depth to the field.

Rookie honours will again be eagerly contested between Kyle Lovering, Caleb Paterson and Hayden Nissen in Sydney.

Highlighting the growth in Battery World Aussie Racing Cars is the expansion of the Johnston Craill Racing Enterprises to two entries starting in Sydney, with team co-owner, driver and Masters Cup contender Asher Johnston being joined by Jack Boyd.

With last year’s Masters Cup winner Kent Quinn is missing from the entry list, opening up the competition between Johnston, Shane Mann, Scott O’Keefe, Troy Jones, Matt Gooding, crowd favourite Cody Mckay and Bret Osborn to battle it out for supremacy.

Dornan’s domination of Gold Cup may come to an end through with Jeff Watters, Denis Butler, Emma Clark, Andrew Hamilton and David Makin providing stiff competition.

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series will contest four races at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 21-23.
