TFH Racing buys Aussie Racing Cars from Tony Quinn

After more than a decade of innovation and growth under the ownership of Tony Quinn, the Aussie Racing Cars (ARC) category and manufacturing businesses have been sold to TFH Racing.

Aussie Racing Cars was originally founded by Phil Ward over 25 years ago and quickly became one of Australia’s most exciting and competitive racing categories. Tony Quinn acquired the business in 2012 and, over the past 13 years, has overseen its rise to prominence as one of the strongest fields in Australian motorsport history. Under his stewardship, ARC has raced at the nation’s largest motorsport events, thrilling fans with its intense wheel-to-wheel competition, including three trips to New Zealand, making Aussie Racing Cars the only national category to host events at every Australian circuit plus three circuits in NZ.

Tony Quinn’s tenure has been marked by significant advancements, including the introduction of new body shapes such as the Mercedes-Benz and Holden Cruze, followed by the Camaro and Mustang.

Brett Thomas, known for his successful TFH Hire Services business and the TFH Racing Team, will now take the helm of ARC with son Josh stepping into an executive management role to oversee the day-to-day operation of the business.  Both Brett and Josh have a strong vision for continued excellence and further refinement of the category.

While Brett and Josh have confirmed that ARC will continue operating under the same philosophy and management team as it has done for the past 25-plus years, they have also outlined medium-to-long-term plans aimed at improving parts supply and sourcing to reduce costs for teams. He also intends to implement parts warehousing processes and bring in additional resources to better support ARC car owners.

The transition marks an exciting new chapter for Aussie Racing Cars, ensuring the category’s legacy of thrilling competition and innovation continues well into the future.

The 2025 Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series is set to commence in Sydney on 21 March with a strong field of 30 cars.
